Welcome to the Northern California Chapter of NIGP!
This chapter is ready to serve you! Whether you are an army of one in a small rural agency, or a large city or county government with dozens of staff, or something in between … we are here to support you in your continued professional development.
In the past few years, we have all endured many obstacles. From staff shortages due to transfers and retirements, to budget cuts of all kinds, and then there was Covid … no one could have seen that one coming. And through it all, we saw one another struggle, fight, then rise above it all … and even thrive! Your individual and collective performance has shown everyone that we supply chain professionals are the heartbeat of commerce in our own communities and worldwide. Many people finally understand your importance and how essential you are to the success of your respective agencies. But there is still more work to do, and this chapter is here to help.
As we all continue to rise from the gloom of the past 3 years, this chapter’s board will be working to bring you new opportunities to learn, network, and hopefully enrich your individual careers. Because we are all fellow procurement professionals as well, we understand the general issues of the day. But we also recognize that everyone is at a different trajectory in their careers and may have some unique struggles within their own agency. So please reach out to me, or any of our officers, at any time and let us know what you need from this chapter. Our sole mission is to support you in your procurement journey.
I look forward to meeting each of you at a virtual or in-person membership meeting or class throughout the year.
